ASG leads the way for Service Leavers with a new Level 4 UAS Qualification

Updated: Oct 11, 2022

ASG has been working for the past few months with Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) to provide a new Level 4 Award in Unmanned Aircraft Systems qualification. TQUK offers qualifications which are regulated by Ofqual and, in some cases, by CCEA Regulation and/or Qualifications Wales, sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and are listed on the Register of Regulated Qualifications Register of Regulated Qualifications website.

This qualification aims to support businesses and government bodies to get the most out of unmanned aircraft system technologies. This qualification is designed for learners who use Unmanned Aircraft for commercial or medium risk purposes in a specific industry and associated role. Drone Remote Pilots are required to operate in a range of industries and environments. For example, this qualification underpins competencies required in the following job roles:

· Drone Remote Pilots

· Photographers

· Scaffolders

· Surveyors

· Engineers

· Roofers

· Emergency Services

Service Leavers

ASG is an ELCAS approved Learning Provider whose training is delivered by people who understand the journey Service Leavers are on, having been there themselves and followed that same transition pathway. ASG pride themselves on being 100% staffed by veterans.

This means Service Leavers can use their ELCAS Higher or Lower tier funding to cover up 80% of the course price meaning that they could pay as little as £400 for a course. See here for further information and how to book a Level 4 UAS course with ASG:

Our new two-part course runs over two separate weeks - you choose the dates that suits you. The first week gets you flying safely and focuses on getting you into the aviator mindset. The second week's aim is to get you operating effectively; building confidence and giving you the opportunity to try many different systems, including Fixed wing and use many different techniques so that you can move forward as a capable Remote Pilot. We will also discuss how to set up your drone business and planning factors to be considered.

The course leads to the L4 Award in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (RQF)and, to support your commercial drone operations, ASG will provide you with an A2 CofC and GVC (Multi Rotor and Fixed Wing) including providing Operations Manual drafting support should Service Leavers apply to the CAA for Specific Category Operational Authorisation.
